Windyridge Garden is a privately held open garden in historic Mount Wilson in the Blue Mountains, about two hours from Sydney. Families can wander through tranquil cool-climate plantings including Japanese maples, camellias, azaleas and hydrangeas, visit the onsite nursery, and enjoy a picnic among tables, chairs and lawns.

Good to know
Road access may be restricted
Mount Wilson Road has been closed by Blue Mountains City Council, with access limited to locals and people granted permits. Visitors should request a permit from BMCC if needed before travelling.
Getting there
There is no public transport to Mount Wilson. The closest train stations are Bell and Mount Victoria, both still about a 25-minute drive away.
Parking
Street parking only is available.
Picnics welcome
Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic, use tables and chairs throughout the garden, or bring a blanket for the grass. There are no cafés, restaurants or petrol stations in Mount Wilson.
Pets on lead
Dogs are welcome if they are on lead and socially trained.
Cash recommended
Card facilities are available, but cash is recommended because internet outages can occur and there are no ATMs or banks nearby.
Nursery onsite
A small onsite nursery sells plants to the public, and visitors can ask for advice during their visit.
Group and venue hire
The gazebo BBQ area can be booked for up to 45 people, and wedding or venue hire enquiries are available by phone or email.
