Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary is a working sanctuary for rescued wildlife needing lifetime care and breed-for-release rewilding programs for endangered animals. Set on a Heritage-listed Aboriginal Cultural landscape with ancient sites dating back more than 4,000 years, families can meet free-roaming kangaroos, emus, koalas and dingoes, join daily ranger talks and feedings, explore the Animal Loop and bush tracks, or relax at the Visitor Centre with a coffee. The sanctuary is open every day of the year.

Daily animal talks and feedings
Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary is a working sanctuary that always puts its animals first. The animals choose whether or how they interact with you. Daily talks and animal feedings are free with your entry ticket.
Opening hours
Gates open at 9:30am every day. The sanctuary is open every day of the year with no closed days, from 9:30am to 5pm (3pm on Christmas Day).
Explore the sanctuary
Families can visit ancient Aboriginal cultural sites on the Heritage-listed landscape, stroll the Animal Loop, explore bush tracks, or relax at the Visitor Centre with a coffee. Overnight cabin and tent stays are also available.
