Café and gift shop
Kookaburra Café & Gift Shop is open 7 days from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm, serving homemade dishes, sandwiches, cakes, slices and coffee, with a gift shop and plant stall.
Accessibility
Designated accessible parking is available, a brick-paved wheelchair-accessible pathway follows the primary garden route, wheelchairs can be borrowed from the Visitor Centre, and the Visitor Centre and Kookaburra Café include accessible facilities and disabled restrooms.
Pets
Pets are not permitted within the Botanic Gardens or immediate surrounds. Assistance dogs are welcome and must be leashed at all times.
Getting there
The gardens are on the Pacific Highway between Newcastle and Raymond Terrace, just north of the Hexham Bridge.
Guided tours
Guided tours are available when booked in advance, and booking at least 2 weeks ahead is advisable.
