Commonwealth Reserve
Foreshore park, playground and Gem Pier views
Williamstown
About
Commonwealth Reserve is the Williamstown foreshore park beside Gem Pier, with bay views, elm avenues, a playground, rotunda, toilets, seating and heritage pieces including the Tide Gauge House and Wilkinson Drinking Fountain. The Hobsons Bay Visitor Information Centre is in the reserve (open daily 10am–4pm except Good Friday and Christmas Day). Williamstown and Williamstown Beach stations are about a 10-minute walk; ferries berth at Gem Pier. A craft market is held on the third Sunday of each month. This is a public park, not a staffed attraction.
Good to know
The centre inside the reserve is listed as open daily 10am–4pm, except Good Friday and Christmas Day. Those hours are for the centre, not the park lawns.
