About
Blackburn Lake Sanctuary is a 27-hectare bushland park in the centre of Whitehorse, with birdlife, wildflowers and walking tracks. The Lake Circuit is about a 30-minute walk. The main entrance is off Central Road, with parking and the volunteer Visitor Centre; pedestrians can also enter from Lake Road. Picnic barbecues, drinking taps, a playground and toilets sit near the entrance. The Visitor Centre is open most Sundays from 2pm to 4pm. Plants and animals are protected; fishing is not permitted; dogs are welcome on lead.
